Parish Center SMS Program

Brand: Parish Center (operated by Parish Center LLC)
Sender: Every message is sent by Parish Center, the platform, on behalf of the parish or group you subscribe to. Messages begin with “Parish Center:” followed by the name of the parish the update concerns — for example: “Parish Center: St. Mary's - Reminder: First Friday Adoration tonight 7-8 PM. Reply STOP to opt out.” Individual parishes do not send messages directly.
Message Types: Parish community communications, event notifications, group updates, ministry announcements, and other informational messages from your parish.
Message Frequency: Message frequency varies depending on parish activity and your subscriptions. You may receive recurring messages.
Message & Data Rates: Standard message and data rates may apply. Contact your mobile carrier for details about your plan.
Opt-Out: Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe at any time.

Sign-In Verification Codes (One-Time Passcodes / 2FA)

Separate from the community program above, Parish Center operates a transactional verification-code program used solely to verify sign-ins to your Parish Center account.

Sender: Every verification code is sent by Parish Center (operated by Parish Center LLC), the platform itself — never by an individual parish.
Message Types: One-time numeric passcodes only. No marketing, promotional, or community content is ever sent on this program.
How You Opt In: You provide your mobile phone number in your own Parish Center account — during account registration or in Account Settings → Communication Preferences. A code is sent only when you request one while signing in or verifying your account, so every message is explicitly requested by you.
Message Frequency: Only when you request a code — typically one message per sign-in attempt. No recurring messages.
Sample Message: “Your Parish Center verification code is 123456. Reply STOP to opt out.”
Message & Data Rates: Standard message and data rates may apply.
Opt-Out: Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving SMS verification codes. You can always sign in with an email link instead.
Help: Reply HELP to any message or email support@parishcenter.net.

How to Opt In

Option 1: Online Consent Form

Provide your phone number and consent to receive SMS messages from Parish Center.

Option 2: Text-to-Join (Keyword Opt-In)

Text a parish keyword to our number to join your parish's SMS list. This is a standard text-to-join flow and is the easiest way to subscribe without using the form above.

Step 1. From your phone, send a text message to:

Step 2. In the message body, type JOIN followed by a space and your parish keyword.

Example: JOIN STMARYS to subscribe to St. Mary's parish updates.

What happens next

Immediate confirmation reply. Parish Center sends you a reply text confirming your subscription. The auto-response reads:
Parish Center: Thanks for subscribing! Reply HELP for help. Msg frequency varies. Msg&Data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Reply STOP to opt out.
Your phone number is added to the parish's opted-in list. You'll begin receiving messages from that parish — typically parish-wide announcements, event reminders, and ministry-specific updates you've subscribed to.
You can opt out at any time. Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe immediately. You'll receive one final confirmation that your number has been removed:
Parish Center: You are unsubscribed and will receive no further messages.
Reply START to re-subscribe later.

Option 3: In-App Opt-In

Turn on text updates inside the Parish Center application: sign in and open Settings → Text messages. You’ll see a switch for each parish you belong to (all off by default). The screen shows the full consent disclosure — brand name, message types, frequency, data rates, STOP/HELP instructions, and our no-sharing privacy commitment — and uses the mobile number on your profile. You can turn any parish off again from the same screen at any time.
